A Federal subpoena issued by the U.S. Attorney seeks documents indicating Guidant executives failed to warn that their defibrillators could short-circuit and knowingly sold potentially flawed devices. Guidant first became aware of these failures in early 2002 but waited until May 2005 to notify physicians.
